Genuine Volvo Penta coolants prevent freezing and overheating while providing maximum component
protection. They are specifically formulated to meet the exact specifications of Volvo Penta engines and include powerful additive technology to prevent internal engine component degradation and thereby optimize
engine life.

Coolants
Note! Volvo Penta provides two types of coolant: Volvo Penta coolant VCS (yellow) and Volvo Penta
coolant (green). They are formulated for the specific requirements of different engine generations and
contain unique additives that are not compatible. Therefore, they should never be mixed. Always use the
same type of Volvo Penta coolant that originally came with the engine.
Recommended mixture Anti-freeze protection
40% concentrated coolant -25° C
50% concentrated coolant -35° C
60% concentrated coolant -46° C
Volvo Penta coolant VCS (Yellow)
This coolant is yellow in color. It is an organic additive technology (OAT) type of coolant specifically developed for the material used in the newer generation of VolvoPenta engines. It prevents freezing and overheating while providing maximum component protection. Does not contain any nitrite, amine, phosphate, or silicate.Does not require a coolant filter.
4-year change interval.
Note! The Volvo Penta coolant VCS (Yellow) must not be mixed with Volvo Pentacoolant (Green), nor be used in combination with a coolant filter. Please refer to the
operator's manual.
Volvo Penta coolant (Green)
This coolant is green in color. It is specifically developed for the material used in the older generation of Volvo Penta engines. It prevents freezing and overheating while providing maximum component protection. Does not contain any nitrites, amine, or phosphate.
2-year change interval.
Note! The Volvo Penta coolant (Green) must not be mixed with Volvo Pentacoolant VCS (Yellow). Please refer to the operator's manual.
Note! Concentrated coolant should be
mixed with pure distilled, deionized water
or water which complies with Volvo STD
